Envision Festival
On a mission to celebrate our human potential, Envision is a festival that inspires different cultures to co-exist harmoniously with each other, and with nature. The event brings people together through a celebration of music, art and the sacred movements of yoga, dance and performance, creating an overall vibe of spiritual connectedness.
This is the festival’s eighth year at Rancho La Merced in Uvita, on the southern coast of Costa Rica, where mountainous rainforest meets the warm Pacific Ocean. It’s just a short walk from the campsites to the surf beach of Playa Hermosa, meaning festival-goers can play in the waves by day and enjoy the festival by night. It is very much a family-friendly affair, with children encouraged to join in the educational playshops and enjoy the special performances.
As a Leave No Trace event, Envision is big on eco-initiatives to minimise waste, conserve water and leave a minimal footprint on the natural environment. Camping options range from bring-your-own tents to treehouse suites and village bungalows, with special five-day yoga retreats and adventure tours on offer too.
WORDS OF WISDOM
- Don’t want to pay full price for a ticket? Become an Activador volunteer — commit to working a single 4-6 hour shift during the festival and get a discounted ticket.
- Super Activadors who work several shifts to help build the festival are rewarded with a huge discount on their ticket as well as a T-shirt, map, water bottle and early access on the Wednesday before the festival.
- Festival first aid is administered by healers at the free herbal clinic. Festival-goers who prefer Western-style medical treatment would be wise to bring their own small first aid kit in case of an emergency.
