Best time to travel: Peak tourist season is July and August, when the weather is at its finest, but Belgium is every bit as attractive during the shoulder months from mid-April to May and September to mid-October.
What to wear: As in most of Western Europe, there isn’t a dress code as such and anything smart casual in darker colours or black will help with blending in.
