Getting there: While Panama has four international airports, most flights arrive at Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport (PTY), 35 kilometres from downtown. Panama can also be entered overland, with many travellers taking a bus from Costa Rica.

Best time to travel: Visit during the summer dry season from mid-December to mid-April. This also corresponds to the high season, so expect higher rates.
What to wear: This depends on the location. Panama City being cosmopolitan, most tend to dress smart casual to formal. In the country, clothing is a more casual affair.
